What is The Toby Project?

The Toby Project is a nonprofit organization working to end the killing of thousands of adoptable dogs and cats each year in New York City's animal shelters through a targeted spay/neuter intitiative.

We are the only organization in NYC whose sole mission is to address pet overpopulation at its inception by preventing the births of unwanted dogs and cats. We will make NYC a true "no-kill" community by directing spay and neuter at the very animals who would otherwise directly perpetuate a vicious cycle of unwanted birth and unnecessary death.

To date, The Toby Project has spayed or neutered 10,884 animals.

Left to breed and multiply unchecked, 10,884 dogs and cats can yield as many as 133,742,592 offspring in only 5 years.
